Lines, Ltd are pleased to announce that the parties have concluded Key Commercial Terms for the purchase and sale of an equity position in, and the establishment of a strategic partnership involving, Methanex’s Waterfront Shipping (WFS) subsidiary. With a fleet of approximately 800 vessels, MOL is one of the world’s largest shipping companies.

Waterfront Shipping takes leadership role in demonstrating simplicity of methanol bunkering to marine industry

Waterfront Shipping, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Methanex Corporation (Methanex), yesterday demonstrated the ease of ‘barge-to-ship’ bunkering as part of the launch of the world’s first barge-to-ship methanol bunkering operation at the Port of Rotterdam. Waterfront Shipping’s Takaroa Sun—a long-term chartered vessel owned by NYK Bulkship (Asia) Pte. Ltd., and a subsidiary of NYK—which was accorded special mention for Green Ship of the Year, participated in the operation as the inaugural methanol-powered ship to be fuelled by a commercial bunker barge.

(“IINO LINES”) is proud to announce the delivery of Creole Sun, a 49,000 deadweight tonne methanol carrier equipped with two-stroke dual-fuel methanol-powered engine technology. Built in South Korea at the Hyundai MIPO Dockyard, this vessel is owned by joint investment from IINO LINES and Mitsui & Co., Ltd. (“Mitsui”). IINO Marine Service, a wholly-owned subsidiary of IINO LINES, offers ship management service.

Low Emission Methanol-Fueled Chemical Tanker Delivered

Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK Group) is proud to announce the delivery of Takaroa Sun, a methanol carrier equipped with two-stroke dual-fuel engine technology that enables the vessel to be powered by methanol. Built in South Korea at Hyundai MIPO Dockyard, the new ship was funded through NYK’s green financing initiative established to support environment-friendly projects.

These four 49,000 dead weight tonne vessels will be delivered in 2019 and built with MAN B&W ME-LGI 2-stroke dual-fuel engines that can run on methanol, fuel oil, marine diesel oil or gas oil.

These 50,000 dead weight tonne vessels will be built with MAN ME-LGI flex fuel engines running on methanol, fuel oil, marine diesel oil, or gas oil.
