Lines, Ltd are pleased to announce that the parties have concluded Key Commercial Terms for the purchase and sale of an equity position in, and the establishment of a strategic partnership involving, Methanex’s Waterfront Shipping (WFS) subsidiary. With a fleet of approximately 800 vessels, MOL is one of the world’s largest shipping companies.

IINO Kaiun Kaisha, Ltd. (“IINO LINES”) is proud to announce the delivery of Creole Sun, a 49,000 deadweight tonne methanol carrier equipped with two-stroke dual-fuel methanol-powered engine technology. Built in South Korea at the Hyundai MIPO Dockyard, this vessel is owned by joint investment from IINO LINES and Mitsui & Co., Ltd. (“Mitsui”). IINO Marine Service, a wholly-owned subsidiary of IINO LINES, offers ship management service.

Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK Group) is proud to announce the delivery of Takaroa Sun, a methanol carrier equipped with two-stroke dual-fuel engine technology that enables the vessel to be powered by methanol. Built in South Korea at Hyundai MIPO Dockyard, the new ship was funded through NYK’s green financing initiative established to support environment-friendly projects.

Waterfront Shipping Company Ltd. (WFS), Marinvest/Skagerack Invest (Marinvest), IINO Kaiun Kaisha, Ltd. (IINO), Mitsui & Co., Ltd. (Mitsui), and the NYK Group (NYK) are proud to announce their investment to build four new ocean-going vessels powered by clean-burning methanol fuel.

These four 49,000 dead weight tonne vessels will be delivered in 2019 and built with MAN B&W ME-LGI 2-stroke dual-fuel engines that can run on methanol, fuel oil, marine diesel oil or gas oil.

April 2017 marks one-year since Methanex Corporation’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Waterfront Shipping, welcomed seven of the world’s first ocean-going vessels capable of running on methanol into its fleet. The first three vessels were delivered in April and the remaining four later in 2016.

On August 11, Waterfront Shipping Company Ltd. (WFS) and Marinvest/Skagerack Invest (Marinvest) were proud to attend the traditional ship-naming ceremony in Korea and take delivery of the methanol-fueled ocean tanker, Mari Boyle.

Waterfront Shipping Company Ltd. has reached an agreement with Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL), Westfal-Larsen & Co A/S (WL) and Marinvest/Skagerack Invest to build six new ships, with an option for building an additional three, all to be delivered during 2016. These 50,000 dead weight tonne vessels will be built with MAN ME-LGI flex fuel engines running on methanol, fuel oil, marine diesel oil, or gas oil.
